Friday Cat Blogging – The Old Skool Edition

Doug,

Spliff

Pablo,

Pablo Can't Get Down

And by popular request, Merle.

Sack O' Cat

And poor Sasha,

Poor Sasha

She doesn’t feel well. She’s lost quite a bit of weight and seems as though she’s on the verge of something sinister. We have a feeling the adoption agency lied to us about her health and age and that she will require more help in the near future. Nevertheless, she remains the attention- and affection-seeker that she’s always been. Poor, sweet kitty. It’s been difficult to watch her deteriorate.

  1. My oldest kitty lost a bunch of weight (and threw up a lot too) and it turned out she had an overactive thyroid. The weight loss was pretty rapid. Cats have two, so the vet took out the bad one and left the other one to take over all the functions and she has been doing great for a couple years now. Also, although you probably already have, you might want to have her teeth checked for an infection.

  2. A piece of free advice, worth every penny you pay for it: Have you taken Sasha to the vet? The weight loss and general feeling bad might be due to something that can be treated cheaply and effectively (infection, thyroid, etc). Poor kitty doesn’t look happy, but it sounds like she’s still enjoying your attention so life isn’t all bad.

  3. Sasha needs a hug. =(

I think Doug is very well-named, though. He has a very “doug” kitty-face.

  4. Merle! I want to blow raspberries on that big furry tummy…
Stop! The cuteness is killing me!!!! Too much!

  5. Yay, Merle! But we can’t see his chins! (I know, some people are never satisfied.) So then, if Merle is composed of 11 different cats, does that mean he has 99 lives?

I love Merle. He just always looks so content. There’s a reason why the Latin words for cat, felis, and happy, felix, are so similar.

That’s a very arty picture of Doug. I like how the lamp behind his head gives him that saintly halo effect.

And poor Sasha. I’ll third the advice that you get her checked out (if you haven’t already).
