In 2000, bored one night as her toddler napped, Lauren Bruce founded FEMINISTE so she could explore feminist practice and theory with other folks on these new things called blogs, writing extensively about the intersections of feminism, teen- and single-parenthood, social class, electoral politics, and pop culture. Since then, Lauren graduated from Purdue University, got a job, and settled into suburban middle age. Lauren has quit blogging “for good” at least three times. Today her work is focused on hyper-local community-building news and events, with a keen focus on biking and pedestrian infrastructure. She lives in Indiana with her family.
She is still known to accept bribes.
