Stepping Out

I am not looking forward to the school year. Student teaching looms over my head. I’m nervous and antsy and reading all I can from Rethinking Schools to ground myself before I get in the classroom.

To get out of my head, I’m stepping out for the weekend, heading up to northwestern Indiana to visit friends with the little one before my official school year starts on Tuesday. We plan on doing little — perhaps some swimming, a lot of eating, absolutely no internet — and that’s exactly what I need.

Everyone have a good weekend.

  1. Northwestern Indiana? Don’t tell me you’re going to Indiana Beach!

(If you are, please feed a “buglemouth bass” for me.)

  2. Yea, lets have an Indiana Beach day, I think we can get a cheap group rate! I want to go to the haunted mansion for the 100th time (always feel like a kid in there for some reason!) 🙂

  3. Agh, sorry, forgot about your fish thing.

Those “bass” would be scary enough as it is — which is why I remember them. Yeeks.

  4. In Lauren’s absence, I, the boyfriend, will be tinkering around with Lauren’s computer-related business. And I think that her lack of presence at home warrants the installation of a very large fish tank. One that may house very large, very ugly fish. Or maybe not. Ain’t love grand?

  5. Ain’t love grand? Not Lauren, posting as Lauren, but actually the boyrfriend Ryan, love is grand. But if you install a tank with ugly fish? Maybe not.
