In defense of the sanctimonious women's studies set || First feminist blog on the internet

Watch Your Info

ISOU points me to a blog where a woman has a fake Adult Friend Finder account, uses it to lure married guys into contacting her, and then publishes their letters on her blog. She even posts phone numbers and names when they give them out and offer to meet her. Like David says, she is absolutely brutal.

And the men? Yeah, can’t work up any compassion for married people getting called out on their adulterous ways.

Watch your information, people. Let this be a lesson to ye.

Burnt on Outrage

When burnt out on politics and righteous outrage, blog about one’s domestic projects.

The Heavenly Blue morning glories and Bloody Butcher tomatoes are coming along nicely. Anyone else sense a dichotomy amongst these seedlings?

Anniversary

At some point, I missed the two year anniversary of this blog. Unfortunately the archives don’t represent this fact, thanks to the many posts deleted during my MT days. That makes about five years of blogging.

In other news, I got the new monitor set up. Now it’s all about the CD burner.

Go wish Rox a happy anniversary as well.

Exit stage right

Well it looks as though Lauren is back for a while so I’m going to take a long walk into the sunset. Thanks to Lauren for letting me vent my spleen for a bit on her blog, I really enjoyed it and learned a bit too. Millstone and Spooky pass on their farewells.

Did I get through that without any shameless link plugging?

Cheers,

Flute

Alternet Blog Survey

Via What She Said, I see that Alternet is taking a survey on blogs and how they should use and report on them. I filled mine out and added a slew of (in my opinion) fantastic bloggers who have little association with the Egosystem’s usual suspects.

Don’t forget to mention your favorite feminist bloggers. As a liberal pro-feminist news outlet, I predict that Alternet will pay attention to us.

New Ed Blog

Required to keep a running journal for an education class this semester, I have decided to set up another blog.

Topics covered include our class readings and meetings, and later on in the semester, my final formal educational experience in the classroom before student teaching. I may also cover some experiences substitute teaching, as I plan to do this semester.

I’m not promising anything special (at all), but come by and comment if you’d like.

Blog Award Nominee, Ahoy!

Not only am I nominated for the best overall blog at the Koufax Awards, bit I’m also up for Best Single Issue blog for feminism.

I’m up against Alas and Echidne, as far as feminism is concerned, along with everyone else nominated, so I doubt I’ll win this one at all. Or the other one.

Therefore I nominate myself for the Spanglemonkey Always a Bridesmaid Award, and then I’ll give and receive it, and congratulate myself with a very hefty pat on the back. Hooray.

You know what? I’m making up my own awards thingie…
