That George Bush, always on top of things

Mr. On The Ball is just getting around to saying that displaying nooses is bad.

Is it January 21st yet?

  1. “The noose is not a symbol of prairie justice, but of gross injustice,” the president said.

Wut? Who the hell thinks of the noose as a symbol of prairie justice?

Can I just sleep through the next year?

  2. I think he just figured out that black people can vote.

Either that or someone just clued him in that it’s Black History month.

  3. To be fair to Bush, he is on the right side of this issue, even though he’s about 7 years too late. Compare that to his position on torture.

  4. Oh please- if he had come out and said this when Jena was “THE” hot topic, it would bear some weight. As it is, this is just George doing a PSA for his last Black History Month. Means NOTHING.

  5. Um . . . I’m assuming that the entirety of Bush’s remarks wasn’t printed there. But did anyone else notice that while he strongly condemned both lynching and the hanging of nooses (what a maverick!), the words “black,” “African American,” “race” and “racism” didn’t appear at all? I’d like to think that the bits where he talked about lynching not only as horrifying injustice but as racist, white supremacist horrifying injustice, but you know. Its Bush.
