Feministe Portland Meet-Up – Dec. 30th

Apparently this week is the Feministe West Coast Tour, because we’re planning a Portland meet-up on Dec. 30th, to follow the Seattle meet-up on Dec. 29th. The details:

What: Feministe Portland Meet-Up
Who: Jill, Little Light, Jill’s family, and whoever else can make it!
When: Dec. 30th, 9pm
Where: Rontom’s, on E 6th and Burnside, right on the east side of the Burnside Bridge. The name isn’t on the outside of the bar, but it’s right on the corner of Burnside and 6th and there’s a picture of a man with a propeller backpack above the door.
Why: Because you love Feministe and want to party Portland-style.

And yes, my dad and sister will be joining us. It’ll be a party. Hope to see lots of you in Portland!

  1. Very cool! I will certainly try to make this. Will there be a way to recognize the party, or should I ask for the “Feministe table” when I come in?

  2. Oh drat and double drat. At just about that time I’ll be checking in to a motel somewhere between Denver and Portland, wishing I was meeting you all instead and wondering where I’m going to get respectable coffee in the morning.

  3. Oh dear! This is going to be in a bar, which means it will be 21+ only, doesn’t it?

Damn. Two weeks too early for me! Well, I’ll be there in spirit.

  4. Madeline, they do serve food. I’m not sure, but they might be all-ages until a certain hour, you know? You could always engage in weaseling. They’re pretty chill there.

  5. So – if I just wait a few more days can I hope to see a post about a Feministe San Francisco meet-up? since y’all appear to be working your way southward down the West Coast?

    please please please?

  6. Awesome cat says “Awesome”.  I shall totally be there.

Will there be signage, or would it make more funny sense to come in with a Feministe sign and wait for someone to wave?

  7. i’ll be there! rontom’s is one of my favorite bars too.

madeline (or any other under 21-ers), it is a bar at all times (so IDs are always needed), but if it’s busy-ish and you’re with a group and don’t go up to the bar, they might not ask you for your ID. sometimes they come over to the tables to ask for ID, sometimes they only ask at the bar. so you might be able to slip in unnoticed.
