Judge orders removal of anti-choice threats

Anti-choice nut John Dunkle has been ordered by a federal judge to remove threats about a women’s health clinic worker from his blog:

One posting, which featured the provider’s name, photo and address, stated that “while it does not sound good to say go shoot her between the eyes, it sounds even worse to say let her alone.”

Yes, that’s the face of the “pro-life” movement. I’m glad to see someone standing up to anti-choice terrorists.

  1. Well, at least he was honest. Your last sentence is interesting to me – because I think the fact that these people are not recognized as terrorists continues to be a problem. We have this image of a terrorist as a bearded and turbaned guy who speaks with an accent… Which sort of makes us overlook homegrown terror.

    I’m glad to see that other bloggers are using the word “terror” as well.

  2. Part of me wonders just how much of the behavior stems from the fact that these terrorists know they’re safe. When was the last time a pro-life church faced any kind of retaliation? When was the last time their doors or parking lots were barred? When was the last time they faced vandalism or a fire-bomb? When was the last time a violent pro-life activist was followed home, menaced, beaten, or killed? When was the last time being a forced-birth radical cost anyone anything more than maybe a night in jail for disturbing the peace or the vague threat of legal action?

  3. good. also really good to see he is barred from posting pictures, names, addresses etc, b/c i have failed thus far to see how that is anything but terrorism. i can not think of a way in which anti-choicers gathering and using this info should be ok in any twisted plane of existence, and yet they seem to get away w/ it. terrorist is the word i would use.

  4. I’m all for inflammatory rhetoric for its own sake and all, but to call this guy (or anybody like him) “the face of the ‘pro-life’ movement” is disingenuous and unhelpful.
