Music break

Because I heard this song in a bar the other day, and because Cass Elliot was awesome.

Also, Dickie Smothers? Kinda hot.

  1. Truly. And her heart attack probably had more to do with crash-dieting (and drugs) than with being overweight.

This isn’t even the best audio I found on Youtube, but the others featured Michelle Phillips prominently, and this was Cass’s song. Plus, comedy.

  2. Also, kinda puts the lie to the whole “Gen X rejects everything about teh 60s” plus the idea that “All the music in the 60s was original and sui generis” given that this song was written in 1931.

  3. Man, I love her voice. 🙂 Very talented woman. Now I gotta go see if they have “California Dreamin'”, cause I like their version better than the Beach Boys.
