Two Million Strong

Liza is compiling all the posts about the Melissa/Amanda drama, and points out in an email that these blogs collectively reach more than two million people a day. Just a thought for the Edwards campaign — that’s a whole lot of voters from their base to alienate.

  1. 2 million? I’d love to be wrong about this, but that number just seems way off– SS’s sitemeter claims 4.6k per day, and Pandagon’s advertising page claims to be ‘seen nearly 4.5 mil times per month’, which would imply about 150k daily pageviews, no? Do they really, together, get 4x more than DKos (470k)?

  2. I think Jill means all the blogs who are writing in support of Amanda and Melissa reach 2 million combined. But, the important thing is that Michelle Malkin doesn’t like them, and since that’s clearly who calls the shots for Edwards, those 2 million really don’t matter.

  3. Heraclitus: oh, that’s more plausible, I suppose, although there’s got to be such immense overlap in readership that it still seems questionable. At any rate I used the Edwards email-thing to tell them there’s no way I’d support him if he caved here. This is just nuts.

Still very unlikely. Probably the same 150,000 people are reading all of these blogs. Surely it isn’t the case that the readerships of Feministe, Pandagon, Feministing, etc., are all completely non-overlapping.
