I’m being annoying and commenting something that has nothing to do with your post. Sorry. I just wondered if you’ve seen this: Presidential dollar coins. Finally they’re giving dollar coins a chance to catch on, by writing on the edge so they’re even less quarter-like…but replacing Sacagawea with more dead white guys. I try not to be paranoid, but the only damn coins with women on them in the US were doomed before they were issued by poor planning…now they’re finally taking a better step to differentiate them from the quarters, and they’re not women anymore. It smells a bit to me like no one really wants a viable coin with a woman on it.
It’s probably not so much that they don’t want a coin with a woman on it so much as they just don’t care enough to make it happen. And fucking hell, if they want the dollar coin to catch on, discontinue and recall dollar bills.

Apparently there is quite a few counterfeint one dollar bills, and since the US bills are so easy to conterfeint, it would be too costly to recall the bills.
