Because Michelle Malkin wins the prize today, for complaining about liberal intolerance and racism against asians. Yes, this is the woman who wrote the book defending Japanese internment. Scroll up a little on her blog, and you get to her post about scary Saudis on school buses. Scroll down and watch her go on about “hispandering,” how (brown) illegal aliens kill people (something that white citizens apparently never do), and the virtues of racial profiling.
Of course, Malkin loves the “reverse racism” card. My favorite line from her:
One of the largest, boldest banners visible from aerial shots of the rally read: “THIS IS STOLEN LAND.” Others blared: “CHICANO POWER” and “BROWN IS BEAUTIFUL.” (Can you imagine the uproar if someone had come to the rally holding up a sign reading “WHITE IS BEAUTIFUL?”)
See, we don’t have to hold the sign, because movies, TV, magazines, and the advertising industry send the “White is Beautiful” message for us. But nevermind all that.
Now, I certainly agree that it was in very poor form for the kids at Wonkette to make a racist joke at Malkin’s expense. She’s batshit crazy enough were we certainly don’t have to go after her physical characteristics in order to make our point. So I’m not going to stand up for them, because racism is wrong — no matter who it’s directed at. But excuse me if I do lack some sympathy for Malkin, and if I do think she’s completely full of shit for spewing vile racism left and right, and then getting upset when a stereotype is projected onto her. I would just like to see people on the left behaving better.
