Pro-Choice T-Shirt Day

is April 25th. Wear yours.

Actually, April 25th is technically pro-life t-shirt day. And I don’t imagine that too many people up in my neck of the woods will be walking around wearing their “Abortion: The Leading Cause of Death in America” shirts (but that’s just because they aren’t a “strong and determined voice for the babies”).

However, I will be wearing my favorite reproductive freedom fighter dress. We might as well make a pro-choice showing, right? If you need one, check out AuH2o designs.

  1. eep, I know this is an american thing, but its a pity its on the same day as ANZAC day – a day of rememberance for WW1 (and subsequently all wars).

  2. If we’re including zygotes, the leading cause of death in the country is menstruation.

    But hey, who needs science!

  3. But…as Sierra already pointed out, if we’re including everything that ever got fertilized, then failed implantation is the leading cause of death. Up to 80% of implantations fail. The majority of them probably have chromosomal abnromalities so perhaps a t-shirt saying “Nondisjunction: the leading cause of death in the US” would be more accurate.

  4. “PRESIDENT SIGNS ‘ANTI MENSTRUATION’ ACT INTO LAW”

Sorry, Sierra. *Laughs* I just got to thinking about what you said, and that’s the headline I imagined.

  5. Actually, the leading cause of death in America is probably pesticides. Who knows how many billions of insects are being slaughtered every year?

Second place would have to go to meat-packing plants. ‘Cause of how many animals are killed all the time.

Hey, they didn’t narrow it down to fetal death, or even human death.

  6. Kyra: Good point, but what about antibiotics? Surely more bacteria die than insects or meat animals…Or maybe white blood cells and their evil technical aids vaccines and anti-virals–virus genocide anybody?
