To check out a conversation between me, Hanna Rosin and some other soon-to-be-announced fantastic participants discussing Rosin’s new book, The End of Men: And the Rise of Women.

  1. These silly articles are designed for one purpose: page views.

    Reading the comments from the original Atlantic article, as well as the one from Kate Bollick and Anne-Marie Slaughter explain why. Compare it to any other article Anne has written, such as her views on military intervention in Syria. She would be lucky to get 4 or 5 responses for those. Really? The possibility of a regional war in the Middle East involving several state actors is second tier to an article about why a random woman doesn’t want to get married?

    It’s both brilliant and sad at the same time. Take a look at some of the imagery being used. From the link on HuffPo, there’s an image of a statue’s severed penis. Oh, dear. Don’t forget the stock images on Slate. They all have some dishevelled man (aka “the stupid loser”) and the brilliant (and always white) woman with dress clothes. Because she’s sophisticated, you know?

    There was a time when reading publications like Newsweek, Slate and the Atlantic was actually worth it. Nowadays, it’s filled with absolute garbage.
