It has been so long since I’ve produced original content at this blog that you could certainly be forgiven for not realizing I was still here. A goodbye may seem somewhat redundant, but I’m the kind of person who likes closure.
Despite my lack of recent involvement, throughout my time at Feministe I’ve tried with varying degrees of success both to produce high quality content and expand the types of conversations that Feministe is capable of hosting and having. Without a doubt, I’m proudest of the fact that I’ve been able to bring some amazing work here from other writers, through guest posts and series. I’ve always felt that bringing many of those voices here was far more important than anything I’ve personally written — and that is an attempt at neither humility nor self-effacement, but an expression of genuine satisfaction.
My extended lack of full participation here makes the official decision to step away long overdue and only fair. This blog has changed a lot over the years, for a variety of reasons. And I’ve changed a lot, too. Having each grown in different directions, Feministe and I simply no longer align in the ways we once did, and it’s time for me to move on to other projects.
During my time working on this site, I’ve certainly made great friends, read great writing, and had great conversations, and for that I’ll always be grateful. Though I write less than I once did, I haven’t hung up my keyboard and can still be found at The Curvature. Thanks to everyone for having me. Goodbye and good luck.
