Better(ish)

I’m feeling better. Sort of. If I’m active enough to require walking and/or standing for a length of time, I get tired and have to lay down, but the fever is gone and the pain is gone. Mostly. When I went out looking for a winter coat for Ethan this Wednesday, merely walking through the mall put me down for the night. I suppose my body is telling me to slow down and take it easy, but I want to move! This is my vacation!

A friend is coming into town tonight and is forcing me to endure the most physical activity that I’ve had since Wednesday, so we’ll see how I do. She is rather high energy, so I might have to sit back and observe.

Thank you to everyone who sent advice and well wishes. Today’s Feel Better Regimen includes decaf green tea, Japanese food, and the company of friends.

  1. Ever since a very, very nasty cold turned into a kidney infection when I was 17, I have a repeat performance every 4-5 years.

Lemons and oranges, and lots of them, help as well. (My lemons end up in the tea, and I squeeze the oranges for their juice in water, or just eat them as is, peeled.)

  2. I’ve been thinking about you, and glad to hear things are looking up. Having had a nasty kidney stone and an infected urinary tract many years ago, I just ache for anyone suffering from pain in that region…

If I would actually let myself sleep rather than waking up early to run, I might be getting better myself.

  3. Glad to hear of your improving health. Look at it this way; with being a student, teacher and mom, you’ve earned your rest! I know just writing about all the things you do makes me tired!

So put your feet up and have some Miso soup (unless that’s verboten because of the sodium?).
