Join Feministe in Bowling for Abortion Access

The National Network of Abortion Funds is holding a bowl-a-thon to raise money for abortion care. NNAF is a network of abortion funds — grassroots groups that work to provide abortions for low-income women:

Abortion Funds are local, grassroots groups that work tirelessly to help low-income and disadvantaged women who want an abortion and do not have enough money to pay for it. Abortion Funds help women pay for their abortions, help them buy bus or plane tickets, and even offer women a place to stay when they have to travel for an abortion. Abortion Funds make a difference in women’s lives…and you can join them!

Feministe has a virtual team and an in-real-life team — we’ll be bowling on Monday April 26th at The Gutter in Williamsburg (NYC). To support us (and NAAF, really) you can go here to donate and help us reach our goal of $2,000. Or, if you want to come out and bowl with us on Monday, go to this page and join our team (we’re called The Barrier Method).

So go donate!

  1. It would be awesome if something like this happened in Houston. With the new big ol’ Planned Parenthood being built, this would be a great opportunity for pro choice people to gather and gain good attention, as opposed to the usual coverage of anti choice zealots at weak protests.

  2. Hey, don’t be shy! It’s not hard to organize your own bowl-a-thon–the people at nnaf.org are super friendly and helpful.
I looked and saw nothing in my area. So I called them up and…our event is tonight in Gainesville, Florida!

  3. Love this site, love you feminists!
This is THE most important issue for poor women at this time.
Especially young women-as money is power.
I just want to say “Great job”!! Great women!!
