Another Weblog Survey

Take the MIT Weblog Survey

This one looks like a class-based survey on webloggers. The total results are available immediately after you are finished. Many of them are quite interesting, not what you would think.

There is a serious dearth of women taking this survey. Take it, ladies, and bias be gone (we’d like to think).

  1. I took it. I was disappointed in the terrible grammar in the survey (I should really lower my expectations) and also an example of sexist language.

Some of it wasn’t that easy to answer, either.

  3. Sorry, I added another digit to the man column… I really want to know what their assumptions about bloggers are… I’d like to see what chunk is queer – I’d guess high. Keep us posted if you find out more.

  4. I think I scored better on the MIT sex survey to be honest. I found out that I am old (which I already knew but . . .)

I’m curious about the questions of knowing folks in various professions and stuff – especially since they didn’t have those results available and I’m not sure what they were trying to determine from it.

My paranoia makes me wonder about needing a zip code to link to you blog. . . but I’m sure the government already has all dissenters under surveillance, so my blog should not be a suprise.

  5. I think they’re fishing for class “data” with all those questions about knowing people in different occupations. that or they have a sincere interest in how many farmers blog…

  6. Now more women have taken the survey than men (5061/4866). Due in large part to the efforts of Feministe readers, I’m sure. 🙂
