Ask Me Anything, Again

We played this game awhile back, but like Terrence, the questions and answers were so fun I thought we’d drag it out again. Plus I’m busy.

Here’s how we play:

  • Ask me 3 questions. Any 3, no matter how personal, private or random.
  • I have to answer them honestly. I have to answer them all.
  • In turn, you post this message in your own blog or journal and you have to answer the questions that are asked of you.

I’ll take questions through 12 noon EST tomorrow and answer them over the weekend.

Dr. B’s 4th Blogiversary

It’s thanks to her that I still keep this blog (and haven’t gone underground to start all over) and quit with the anonymity bag I insisted on carrying for so long. Also, it’s completely her influence that has me aiming toward grad school. When I need advice, I bribe her with tomatoes.

Dr. B, my academic and blogging mentor of sorts, is celebrating her fourth blogiversary! Go give her some love.

The Point and the View

My new favorite blog is BAGnewsNotes, a blog dedicated to analyzing news-based visual representations of politics, politicians, and what essentially functions as propaganda. These images are so often thrown in my face that I forget they are loaded with pro-Bush II administration sentiments.

See today’s post on recent uses of the flag, and a paranoid but amusing post analyzing pictures of John Roberts through the years ( I must say I disagree with the author’s conclusions). For a particularly good post, see the analysis of Time Magazine’s Anne Coulter cover from this April.

A Call for Dude Bloggers

I know there must be some dudes out there that blog, but I can’t think of any. If you can think of any blogs written by people with external gonads, please leave them in the comments.

I know the call for dude bloggers may seem silly or sexist, but it’s the chromosomes that count, not the content.

Advice for the new blogger

A Feministe fan sent me an email asking for advice about starting a blog — more blog-philosophy stuff than nuts-and-bolts basics. I’ve emailed her my thoughts, but since most of you either have blogs or read blogs, you may be able to offer some wisdom and advice — and I’d certainly like to hear a bit about what makes a “good” blog. So comment away!

When Did You Know?

My blog daddy is compiling stories from people on when they knew. And if you don’t know what I’m asking about, you’ve probably never had to think about it.

I asked a couple of friends this very question last month and got a good answer, “What is, is.” It would have made Mama Duck proud.

ATTN: Hoosier Liberals

See HABIT, a blog meant for “Indiana based bloggers to talk about George W. Bush in general and The Downing Street Memo in particular. Are you a Hoosier who wants to join us?”

Thursday dog-blogging

Ferris

Because everyone cat-blogs on Fridays and I most likely will not be around tomorrow, I’m gonna jump the gun and dog-blog today. Meet Ferris.
