  2. Oh, I don’t know. The discussion is revolving around Richard Bennett, and as we’ve quickly learned, he is a pretentious moron. It’s become rapidly less interesting since we discovered that, I think.

  3. I’m about 99.9% positive that one time a white, middle-class woman got something over on him, and that of course has become irrefutable proof that we bitches are all-powerful.

  4. I find the discussion interesting even though it has started to be about Richard B. Not because of the subject (Richard B), but because of all the reseach being done showing what an utter moron he is.

And any thread that could include so many of my favorite bloggers is by any standard a good thing. It’s a pity he doesn’t start involving the militant right-wing, so David Neiwert could participate in slapping him around….

  5. Well, I know he wanted presumptive joint custody in California, and California just voted against it. Again. Fathers’ rights groups in California tried to pass another presumptive joint custody bill in the mid ’90s, and lost then, too. I provided written testimony against the bills both times. He must be sore. 😉

  6. PZ is right. Bennett exists to get attention for himself. The thread was entertaining, but it was temporarily derailed – just what he probably wanted. He’s amusing for a few minute but he gets boring very quickly. He lost this round, hands down.

  7. If this is the same Richard Bennett I think it is, he threw a tantrum over on Table Talk because we wouldn’t argue with him about joint custody. The feminist crowd said “Hm, okay, sure, sounds good” and he just didn’t know what to do with himself.

Guys like this get a charge out of women being mad at them, is all.

  8. Well done, Trish and science dudes. You showed him up for the irrational jackass he really is. Nice work on keeping your heads and really trying to argue rationally with a mind that is really not screwed on right. I’m overjoyed to see so many sensible, reality-based science dudes out there. I thought they had all gone over to the Dark Side.
