Of the Moment

  1. Yes the victory is truly bittersweet if Prop 8 passes… it would mean that society has not progressed as far as so many have hoped. I am desperately hoping that people will choose love.

  2. I’m angry. Prop 8 means a lot. I guess I had priced in the Obama win a month ago, because this morning I’m just pissed. Those are real human beings, people! They just want the right to do what het folks take for granted!

    Shit.

  3. Is there a reason to throw in the towel on Prop 8 quite yet? Only 91% of precincts are reporting, and it looks like a squeaker.

Yeah, it’s looks like Prop 8 is going to pass after all.

52% yes/48% no with 95% of votes counted, with a 400k vote lead for the “Yes”-side.

My heart aches for all the people in America who are being affected by this. I’m so sorry.

  5. It’s too bad about Prop. 8, but relationships and marriages come and go and with it the privileges that come with marriage. Best to protect yourself with all the other legal tools out there, and for the large percentage of queer folks not in couple, be sure to complete a living will and select a legal guardian in case you are incapacitated.
