In defense of the sanctimonious women's studies set || First feminist blog on the internet

It’s been real

My sincerest thanks to Jill, Cara, Holly, Jack, zuzu, and kactus for allowing me this opportunity to share your space. Also thanks to my fellow guest blogger Amanda—it’s been a pleasure writing alongside you these past two weeks. Finally, thanks to all of you who read my posts and participated in the discussions. I’m glad we were able to get some interesting conversations started, and I learned loads from this experience. I hope you’ll continue to read, comment on, and perhaps even enjoy my blog at the Xyre—or at least subscribe to the RSS feed and page through it occasionally.

If you’re going to be fasting in observance of Tisha B’Av this weekend, I wish you a tzom qal (an easy fast), and just remember: if it’s Tisha B’Av now, Tu B’Av (the little-known Jewish Valentine’s Day—traditionally “rediscovered” and “celebrated” by zealous pre-teens at Jewish summer camp) is only six days away.

So long, Feministe. It’s been terrific.

  1. actually, tu b’av is more like a jewish sadie hawkins day, as the women are the ones choosing their honeys.

  2. Unfortunately, I won’t be moving back to NYC (where my wife and daughter are) in time for Tu B’av.

Shameless self-promotion-wise, I got Tisha B’av blogging up on my blog.
