Friday Random Ten – the Officially Burned Out edition

wee_44.jpg

Do I really have to do this Bar study BS for another month? Isn’t it vacation time yet?

And, since I know at least a few other Feministe readers are in the same boat, a question: What makes you want to scratch your own eyes out more, Property or Wills? (I vote Property, even though the fabulous Paula Franzese and her little songs make it much better).

1. Sally Shapiro – Jackie Junior (Junior Boys Remix)
2. Death Cab for Cutie – Little Furry Bugs
3. Rhett Miller – I Want to Live
4. MIA- Come Around
5. Tom Waits – How’s It Gonna End?
6. Guided by Voices – Glad Girls
7. Mogwai – Kids Will Be Skeletons
8. Bill Evans Trio – Stan’s Blues
9. The Elected – Greetings in Braille
10. Jill Scott – Free

Friday Video is pretty:

  1. Thought you might like this review of a recent Tom Waits show in steamy Dallas (but he didn’t remove his black coat and bowler).

    1. Rehumanize Yourself by The Police
    2. Finland by Monty Python (Michael Palin on lead vocal, I think)
    3. Stuck Between Sides by The Hold Steady
    4. Total Control by The Motels
    5. Funky by the Chambers Brothers (its bass, drums, and horns were sampled for I Left My Wallet in El Segundo by A Tribe Called Quest)
    6. After the Glitter Fades by Stevie Nicks
    7. Dippermouth Blues by Louis Armstrong
    8. Karmacoma by Massive Attack
    9. Flick of the Wrist by Queen
    10. New Wave Sucks by D.O.A.

  2. I just have to tell you that i ADORE Paula!! I detest property with a passion that burns bright but I have to tell you she is a hit in my Cali bar class. When she started singing all the words to Ja Rule’s New York we all fell out of our chairs laughing.

Oh and while property was awful (in the sense that I will never get recording statutes and mortgages down), I wanted to rip my eyes during our remedies lecture with Conviser. Seriously, the worst lecture ever.

With all the bar prep I’m pretty much at the point where I want to give up all together and find another path–like professional tv watcher.
