In defense of the sanctimonious women's studies set || First feminist blog on the internet

Score: I’m #191

Capping off the month of women and blogging, I’d just like to note that I’ve hit the top 200 in the Blog Tracker That Shall Not Be Named for the first time ever, and have more than doubled traffic for this month (Thanks, Amanda).

If you want to read other women of quality who deserve the same kind of traffic and more, see the links under “feminist blogs” in the sidebar, and for that matter, everyone else linked. For even more good reads, see Feminist Blogs, my poorly organized public bloglines account, and everyone who has posted here today. We’ve had some awesome posts.

FYI: Open Blogging Wednesday is on until 12 am EST. Post away.

  1. Wow–I’ve kicked that traffic over? Boo-yah! It’s good that the Pandagon readers actually read your damn links, I guess.

  2. Congratulations, Lauren. And thanks for letting us share some of your thunder. You’re so generous.

So did you get a chance to read my post?

  3. Of course! I’ve read them all. I’m in the middle of a project right now and only dropping by the blog for procrastination’s sake. I’ll probably respond to each later.

  4. BTW:

When I count up the top 200 blogs, I find 29 liberals. Of those, 11 are women and three are of indeterminant gender. So, it’s fairly even if you expand to the top 200.

  5. In addition, those from #100-200 are people who came to blogging later rather than sooner and are less likely to have built-in credentials like pre-existing journalism careers that make them more marketable to a wide audience. I brought that up at the last gender blogging brouhaha, Roxanne, and no one seemed to notice.

  6. Damn. I need to get over here more often. This is what happens when I leave for the day and take my kids on an excursion.

Props to Feministe…up the charts with a rocket. LOL
