Oh, what the hell

More random Junebug blogging. It’s been a while.

sunny!

Can you see the new white patch on her muzzle? It makes Mommy sad.

  1. Grey patches are awesome! Love that distinguished look. Though it is sad how quickly dogs leave us… Junebug’s a little girl though, so hopefully you’ve got a generous amount of time allotted (the reason why I’d never indulge myself in a Great Dane is the life span… around 7 years :()

  2. White patch? Probably due to that hard life she’s been leading. It’s so hard to be a cute little dog in this day and age. There’s dog food to eat, naps to take, beds to lay on, windows to look out of, squirrels to dream about chasing….it’s tough, I tell ya!

  3. If she is anything like my Barney (smooth black&tan dachshund) was, she will get the white hairs all through her muzzle and even on top of her head!

He left my when he was 14 years old…his brother, Dusty just a year ago at 17 1/2 years old!

I love your little girl’s face and am eager to adopt another little dog or two.

  4. La Lubu, you nailed it. We always give our doggie so much sympathy for the “hard life” she leads, with a verbal list of the items you mentioned.

I always say, “that dog looks like Willi!” but Junebug REALLy does.

  5. I got sad when my dog grew his white patch on his chin, and I continue to get sad now that it’s moved to his upper lip! I tell my dog, “Diesel, you have to stop. First you grow this beard, and now you’re growing a mustache!” He’s a Black Lab, so his beard and mustache are very prominent. Diesel and Junebug should go to the doggy senior center together.

  6. I love that dog. Every time I see a picture of her I think what a perfect name she has: she looks like a junebug would if it were cute.

  7. Hee. She’s all muscle.

One thing I like to do with her when she’s all curled up is to stick my folded hand under her rear leg and make farty noises (the hair is very thin there, so it doesn’t get dissipated by fur). It freaks her out.

  8. If the white spot really bothers you that much, get a black ball point pen and go to work on the spot. I had a cat who developed a white line spot, and I covered it only once. I was surprised how well it worked.
