Site Quirks

Charles helped me do a WordPress upgrade to 1.5. Things may be wonky around here until I get this thing fixed up real purdy.

How is the larger font size?
Any other tricks that would make this thing easier to navigate?

  1. for me??? aww, you’re going to make me blush…

thanks Ms. Lauren! this is great. and the larger font is also verra nice. as the whippersnappers say: you rock! and you don’t stop!

  2. Welcome to the wonderful world of Strayhorn. Not able to help myself, I’ve been testing and playing with it since its Alpha stage, and it’s come a long way.

The font size is just a step up (in HTML size, from a -2 to a -1), but it’s nice. A little easier to read for some folks.

  3. i think the font size is fine, but it’s a bit soft (like a printout when the cartridge is in need of replacing), which makes it difficult to read, especially on a gray background. then again, maybe it’s my progressives….

  4. No, David, it is a dark gray, not black. Oddly, this is easier on my eyes that the white on black. Harsh contrasts give me a headache.

MtDewVirus has a trick for getting your monthly archives to show the entire month, instead of doing the “previous entries” links. It just gives titles and kills the exerpts, but if you keep a copy of your old archive.php it’s pretty easy to compare and tweak the code. (pretty easy= I was able to do it.) files are at http://mtdewvirus.com/code/mdv-archive/

The comment preview is neat: where’d you get it?

  6. Black and white are not good colours for web design. It is always easier on the eye to move to greys. White is especially bad (on any CRT monitor) as it is like staring at a lightbulb.
David: if you have trouble reading the text, maybe your own settings aren’t quite right?
