On a Missouri ballot initiative that would outlaw abortion in the state, and the way that the antis are framing the ban.
On why I identify as “sex positive” as well as something unbelievably awesome from Green Day, thoughts on being a pagan meat eater and the scary possibilty of thought crimes existing in our future.
First-time self-promoter/commenter but long-time reader, keeping with my resolution to comment more to the blogs I read. 🙂 Is Ron Paul a Racist?: the recent allegations and some lesser-known associations. (The accompanying video has predictably brought out the Paulbots.)
Wherein I discuss a few thoughts on “Charlie Wilson’s War” and the reason it may have been called that rather than “Joanne Herring’s War”.
After adding an intro, I reposted my thoughts on how I experience trans*ism on my new blog. I also wrote a rant about Susan Stanton’s transphobic and cissexist statements.
i read a piece on strange science on alternet, and wrote a few thoughts about it, not many but we expounded a little in the comments… please note, i am not looking for a moral lesson on the evils of animal testing…i made clear that i have mixed feelings…thoughts are ok…but this has been a heated topic in the past, and i am not seeking an argument…and basically won’t dignify one
Haven’t been updating too much but I did get a chance to write a bit about Green Bay, Wi and about the “ultra feminist” on ABC’s gem “WifeSwap.”
I continue to rail against housewives and SAHMs. as well as PTA volunteers. I also call out the blatant sexism in how the tv bobbleheads describe Hillary Clinton ‘s behavior. Oh and I tell super embarrassing sex storiess at my pink blog.
Post Iowa wrap-up and my predictions And a new novella release on Friday, and a new novel scheduled for Jan 18. If the Republicans are Buffy Villains, who are the Democrats?
Two burning questions posed: Are right-wingers really that happy that Hillary stumbled in Iowa? and Why do Cialis ads always end with a couple sitting in separate bathtubs out in the middle of nowhere?
Okay, I’m only posting this here because I think as many people as possible should read her. The incredibly brave Rebecca Mott sent me a piece that she wrote called ‘Sometimes I Can Dream’, and I have published it on my blog as she doesn’t have one. Please go and read her, and the other piece that I link to on my site, ‘Always Remember’. Thanks, Debs x
It’s not even Sunday anymore (and my post is even earlier than that), but I must confess: I did comment on the horse-race.
As a first-time self-promoter i must say this is a great way to get to know other readers, i love looking through the links that are posted. The one that i want to throw up here is about self-identity, especially feminist identity and why it’s important. My blog on I’m not a feminist, but… talks about why identifying as a feminist is actually important and maintaining feminist beliefs is simply not enough.
I’m doing the shameless-self-promo dance… can ya picture it??? 🙂 http://rantingraving.wordpress.com/
(Once again, this is the anonymous professional blog of a Chicago-based substitute teacher, so I’m not using my real name here. But I regularly comment at feministe.) Navel Gazing 2007, wherein I wonder how on earth I got here, and where I want to go. Back to the Grind, (or, how I keep myself busy during the day), wherein I ramble on about what happens when the students are set to do busy work all day and I need to keep myself otherwise occupied.
Mrrrr. Brief rant on dating games… and male hypocrisy in Shakespeare inspired by some readings of male feminists where their challenge is to vocally remain a feminist among other men. I’m still learning how to keep myself on track though.
