Here’s a post about sex trafficking and the men who pay to have sex with trafficked women. Also, some thoughts on how attacks against reproductive rights seem to be escalating, lately.
A bunch of crip activists are blogging against the MDA telethon and the charity model of disability this weekend. To see the full posting visit karasheridan.com tomorrow morning. It’s not too late to be added!
General promotion of my blog, “Under Construction…Until I Say So.” If I had to pick one post: “It’s Not the Onion? Really? I Could Have Sworn.” I look at a World Net Daily commentary (I know, why did I even bother) that’s chock full of nuts…racist right wing nuts. Interesting (and I do use that word loosely) claims.
Part One of my review of Leonard Sax’s “Boys Adrift”, in which the good doctor complains that boys shouldn’t be asked to articulate empathy. Thanks!
I seem to have reproductive rights on my mind lately. I’ve written about abortion here and here, plus some general ramblings about life and family in between.
My Feminist-Friendly Unicorn, or Why Is This Not Standard? My musings about the ways women I know have been harmed, the ways I haven’t, and how I shouldn’t have to feel lucky about that.
I write about racism and labour struggle in Cambodia. I write an open letter to Cosmo on that disgusting grey rape article. And I rant about a rapist claiming he raped out of love.
I talk about public vs. private religion. And just for fun, my publisher, Torquere Press, is having contests and give aways for their fourth anniversary.
I blog about European affairs, international law, and things that piss me off at aidemocracy.typepad.com
I speculated a bit about what might be going on in Larry Craig’s head, and put up a short tribute to magician-inventor-skeptic Jerry Andrus, who died last week.
Hi all. A post on my personal blog about the way the Times covers the “first lady” race, and another post on HuffPo about how paternalism in Hollywood movies echoes the movement to limit reproductive rights.
I write letters — this time to NPR about an interview done Sat. regarding a book out on the Duke Lacrosse rape case.
I met a fellow lesbian sex worker in one of Alaska’s remote villages, and I re-contemplated the goodness of goal oriented worldviews.
I just got back from fabulous DRAGON*CON! I posted here about the experience and all the cool people I met. Artists, writers, musicians and all-round wonderful geeks. ((sigh)) Like a kid at Christmas, I was sorry when it was all over. As Woody Allen once said, wouldn’t it be nice if life was like this? 🙂
