A few things for you all to peruse today:

What Autistic Girls Are Made Of

Mandatory arrest laws are bad for victims of intimate partner violence.

Judith Warner is a little late to the game on this one, but she writes that the partial-birth abortion ban puts women in danger and won’t save a single fetus.

Stealing health care from babies

Is segregation the only answer to sexual harassment?

The New York City Council considers banning the word “bitch.” They’ve already symbolically banned the n-word (meaning that there’s no punishment for using it), and the b-word would follow the same path. While I appreciate the sentiment, I also find the idea of banning words pretty offensive. And silly.

Enjoy.

  1. The autism article is one of the best I have seen; thank you for the link. I am going to print it out later and share with my husband and older daughter. So far younger daughter is very happy in elementary school, but this discusses so many of my concerns for her future growth and possible issues.

  2. Thanks for the autism article. My son is a pre-teen and has autism and more than ever social interaction has become a huge priority for us.

As boys are more likely to have autism, more attention is often given to how it affects males. Its nice to see an article with the emphasis on females.

    Thanks!
