Republicans Hate Babies

And children. This is truly pathetic. They’re really earning their pro-life title — as protesters swarm clinics in Birmingham and Wichita to praise doctor and cop-killers and to stalk and harass clinic staff, and as mainstream anti-choice groups take steps to cut abortion access and force women to give birth, their representatives in Congress refuse to fund a health care plan that could help millions of children.

When anti-choice leaders say they care about babies and “life,” they’re either lying or they’re damn stupid.

  1. As I don’t believe most people are inherently assholes, I’m going to say they are probably just stupid.

  2. I like to think that many people who identify as “pro-life” just don’t know what their elected officials are doing in their names. I don’t think they’re necessarily stupid, just trusting and probably well-meaning.

Anti-choice leaders and politicians, however, are another story. I don’t think they’re stupid at all. I think they know exactly what they’re doing, and I think they’re huge, inherent assholes.

  3. I think Jill is right. But to add a fantastic conspiratorial flair: I suspect the anti-choice elites are fully cognizant of the plague of babies sweeping the world, but they need those babies to be born in order to burden/subjugate lower-class women and families. But before the downside of their strategy takes place (overpopulation, swelling proletariot numbers), they pro-actively intend to let the babies die off (from inflicting poor healthcare on them) after they’ve served their purpose. It’s a brilliant strategy, really.

  4. Democrats just hate poor people!

Tobacco use is highest among the most impoverished in our society…

A $0.61/pk tax on cigarettes will cost a minimum wage smoker (1 pack/day) about 2% of his annual income. (Hint: More than his share for Medi(S)care!)

  5. Meanwhile, Rush Limbaugh will be able to light each and every one of his $2 cigars (+ $10 tax) with a $50 bill… and pay less as a percentage of his income than the “minimum wage worker”.

I can just see a John Edwards’ style “Three Americas” campaign–

The ‘obscene rich’, the ‘deserving poor’, and them damn frickin’ smokers… :o)

Well, Republican Rep. Tom DeLay said (quote) “If we had those 40 million children who were aborted in the last 30 years, we wouldn’t need the illegal immigrants to fill the jobs they’re doing today.”

So they think abortion is the cause of illegal immigration, too, apparently.
