  1. Pigs in blankets always look good to me.. but, y’know what? I’ve never had one! Closest thing I’ve had is a corndog. Lol.

  2. At the donut shops here they sell “sausage rolls” in either large or small but they are basically the same as a pigs in blankets. I used to try and bring healthy food to morning training sessions but that food would just sit there. Sausage rolls however are grabbed and eaten in 5 minutes.

I’m a big fan of miniature food /appetizers but never been crazy about pigs in blankets.

I’ve never eaten a corndog. I like cornbread but not hot dogs and also have complete prejudice of anything I saw served at the school cafeteria. This includes salisbury steak, chicken fried steak, frito pie and corndogs.

  3. The British/Canadian equivalent I’m familiar with is sausage rolls – puff pastry around a skinless pork sausage. So good, so bad for you.

Maybe the next hot trend will be rumaki or angels on horseback.

  4. I’m more about the toasted ravioli myself, but that’s probably my midwestern thing. I’ve catered for years, and toasted (sometimes deep fried) ravioli were on the menu lots but I’ve never done pigs in blankets.

  5. Beylita, I’m from St. Louis, and toasted ravioli is, in fact, the food of the gods. I still don’t get why it’s never really expanded past the lower midwest.

  6. I’m so relieved to hear their back, now I’ve just rounded out my appetizer menu for the cocktail party.

Now if I can just get the hired help to polish the silver right this time and keep Harry down to two drinks for the night.

Esme, because they can’t pronounce ravioli in Kennett or Little Rock and they’d have a hell of a time gettin’ them little critters in and out of the toaster.

    Geez.

  7. from the cite,

The family requested them because the deceased loved them,

    and died of arteriosclerosis?

  8. Maybe the next hot trend will be rumaki or angels on horseback

Rumaki – are those the little lumps of liver that you nibble the bacon off of?
