The Kids Are All Right

They’re even pushing for women’s studies programs in high schools. Awesome. Support the Miss G project!

Thanks to Brendon for letting me know about this fantastic project. Seriously folks, get out there and help if you can. If you can throw a few bucks their way, I’m sure they could use it. If you’re like me and don’t even have a few bucks, take five minutes to write a letter.

  1. Alas, its in Ontario. I could see the Arkansas or Kansas PTA getting their panties all up in a bunch if someone proposed this in the good ole US of A.

  2. ..or Missouri, or new Hampshire, or Massachusettts or Washington or Idaho, or

    oh hell, everywhere here.

  3. At my highschool, a moderate sort of school in the midwest, we had no Women’s Studies in highschool. I didn’t like that, so I went to my favorite English teacher and together we built a curriculum for a Women in Literature course, which began as an independent study, just her and I. When last I visited my highschool, the class was still considered an independent, though it now boasted upwards of 10 students.

In conclusion, I strongly recommend the power of teachers and students to be the change they wish to see, to develop their own courses and build a legacy for their fellow students.
