Elections in Georgia

A good piece on the extremely polarizing elections coming up in Georgia (the country, not the state).

I was in Georgia a while back, and was lucky enough to meet a few members of the current government. First observation: Everyone in charge is really, really young. And really, really bright. What was once one of the most corrupt countries in the world was running relatively smoothly, with little corruption. Democratic reformers turned the nation around, and Georgians seemed anxious to be accepted into the international community — especially into NATO.

Second observation: Georgia is really beautiful and the food is awesome.

Jackson Diehl’s article lays out some of the issues with the upcoming elections.

  1. A country into Nato that was under attack so recently? Idk, if that happens again it would plunge all of Nato into war with Russia.
