Summertime! And I’m Back!

Hey All,

Guess what? That’s right! I’m guest blogging for a couple of weeks! As most of you know, I’m a frequent commentor around these parts. I’m obsessed with my dog, gardening, and how big, esoteric philosophical questions impact actual human beings. For you that means I’m probably going to post pictures of Chi.

In fact, let’s start with a picture of Chi!

Little black dog rolling on the grass

As you can see, she is incredibly excited about summer guest blogging.

Beyond that I intend to ask your advice on sprouting and growing things in general. I have a short series of posts about equality, oppression, and choice that I hope will spark a great conversation. If anyone is interested we can continue our prior discussions of the Evangelical Christian Movement (Part 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) or Self-Care or Gratitude [All links to prior feministe articles]. What are you interested in talking about?

  1. Ditto what macavitykitsune said.

Your pieces on the evangelical movement were interesting and the discussions it generated about potential solutions and harm reduction were very informative!

Of course I’m confident that anything you write about will be just as good.

  2. Feministe’s most sarcastic commenter returns to guest-blogging? This is a good (Mon)day. πŸ™‚

  3. Welcome back. I’m looking forward to reading what you have to say, regardless of the topic!

  4. Welcome back, and hello to Mr Kristen as well. I’m sure you’ll write many interesting and insightful things.

  5. Based on popular demand I’ll include Chi in hats and some additional posts on the Evangelical Christian Movement!

Also henceforth I will be called Kristen J., the Most Sarcastic Commentor Ever aka the Queen of Sarcasm.

  6. Love dogs, love thinking about what our attitudes toward our pets say about our attitudes about each other. Right now I’m sort of weirding out about how JUDGMENTAL dog people are toward other dog people (and cat people to cat people) if you do anything “wrong” — very much like we are toward women with children, for instance. Also fascinated by the possibility for overlap between the positive training philosophy with dogs and a more positive, motivational, patient attitude toward our own family.

  7. 1) Yay!

    2) Puppy!

    3) I’d love to hear more on how you see the law/legal issues intersecting with those pesky ‘esoteric philosophical questions.’

Starting the controversial claims a little early, aren’t we?

  9. @Chava,

That is definitely one of my biggest hobby horses. I’m a big believer that law as an institution should be the method by which we attempt to make the world a more just place. But instead its become the method by which we continue to perpetuate the existing power structure. I am all over a good solid rant about that.

    This, please!

I take it Chi is a Chi? You never see all black Chis!

  11. Ha! No Chi is just a term of endearment. (Its an informal suffix in Japanese that means indicates cuteness.) Her name has slowly morphed in to Chi, Cheesybutt or Cheeseburger.

  12. Welcome. I’m looking forward to your posts on Evangelical Christianity and dogs. Lots of dog posts please! (Proud mother to two boxer girls and a mutt!)

  13. I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one who obsesses about their dog. My family adopted a Great Dane puppy back in February and I think he is just the coolest dog ever. He’s been such a joy! And even when he’s not on his best behavior, he’s so darn cute that I can’t stay mad at him….and he knows it. lol
