Conservatives seem to be really confused on that one. Take, for example, CNN’s Dana Loesch:
That’s the big thing that progressives are trying to say, that it’s rape and so on and so forth. […] There were individuals saying, “Oh what about the Virginia rape? The rapes that, the forced rapes of women who are pregnant?” What? Wait a minute, they had no problem having similar to a trans-vaginal procedure when they engaged in the act that resulted in their pregnancy.
Right. But if that “similar trans-vaginal procedure” that got them pregnant wasn’t consented to, it would have been rape.
Ok, so, state-mandated transvaginal ultrasounds — where state law requires that a woman be vaginally penetrated before she can terminate a pregnancy — can’t be rape because a woman who is pregnant must have been penetrated before. By that definition, “rape-rape” — with a penis — can’t be rape if a woman has ever had consensual sex. Or hell, used a tampon. Because once you let one thing go up there, anything goes, right?
I wonder what this means for men who have ever had prostate exams. Or who just enjoy a little prostate stimulation every now and then.
