  1. I love Doug. That vacant, stoned look in his eyes. The solid, destructive evidence that he’s a wild man and an asshole to boot. My kind of guy. Too bad he’s a cat.

  2. I should post a link to a video of one of my dog’s reaction to the snow we just got (1.5 feet on Friday). She ran down the stairs jumped in, realized how deep it was, tried swimming, jumped out and ran back up the stairs. We had to clean a path before she would come back down. Meanwhile, the other one was running around blazing her own paths. Too damn cute.

  3. The second photo looks like Doug is sharing space with a lava flow.

He has grown up to be quite lovely.

    Want Pablo pics, too.

  4. I see Doug is definitely making himself at home. 😉

Why do cats always sit on things that match their fur? My cats do that. Mulder, the black carpet whale, used to sit on one of my black fake fur throws. She was the exact same color as the throw. All you saw was a huge black fur throw that had amber eyes. I sat on her a couple of times when I didn’t see her, and she hissed at me.

  5. I’m not so sure Doug looks so svelte in that first pic, what with that roundy kitty belly goin’ on there.

And Countess–I’ve got a smallish solid black cat named Maude who likes to sleep curled-up tight, seashell-like. My sibling has a round furry black hat. I can’t count the times I’ve said “hi Maude!” and reached out to pet the hat. Luckily the sib hasn’t tried to wear Maude. Not yet, anyway.

Btw, Lauren, you’ve got the best cat pictures!
