  1. My post on being the Exotic Taboo – invisible in the queer/sex-positive world because my race/culture/colour gets in the way – just got posted on Racialicious.

I’ve been accepted for a 3-month residency in San Francisco in mid 2011 to work on performance projects & internships that have much to do with what I bring up in the Racialicious article: looking at gender, sexuality, love, and relationships as a female queer migrant minority. I’m currently fundraising and seeking support to make it there – so come and check me out 😀

  2. I’ve started blogging again after a long hiatus. Some of the articles have a (leftist) Christian theme, so be forewarned.

An open letter to my father regarding our differences in worldview and my reclamation of emotion, intuition, and the subconscious as equally legitimate as rationality; and also laying out that some wounds don’t heal and “put your past behind you” doesn’t always work.

My reaction to the #mooreandme twitter campaign.

My discomfort with Google Street View in light of the threats made against the two Swedish women who have made rape allegations against Assange.

  3. Marvell Comics Too Subtle for Racists

A black actor in the movie, ‘Thor’ has the racial purity protectors all worked up. The funny thing is that the actual Pagans think it’s a hoot.

Why We Need Universal Health Care

William Siewiert will need huge tax dollars for his government care now that his health is ruined. When he needed a modestly priced pill it was unaffordable, insurance out of reach, no doctor to help. The suffering he must have endured as his kidneys slowly failed is unimaginable.

  4. I wrote about the strangeness of naming one’s baby after Betty Draper, which Babycenter.com claims is a small but noticeable trend.

I tried to tease apart the differences between libido and arousal in connection with a product called Zestra that claims to enhance sex for women. I’m still waiting to hear from anyone who has actually tried it!

In a couple of seasonal posts for those of you who celebrate Christmas, I got a laugh out of a German game that features a pooping dachshund, and I reflected on how to bring the Santa myth in for a gentle landing – which luckily worked out well for my kids. (Actually, the dachshund game is amusing no matter what you celebrate.)

  5. Pinning down “rape” in the media – Coverage of Julian Assange’s rape charges have gotten me thinking about the difficulty of discussing rape in the news

Review: Amante remote-controlled vibrator – Some wireless fun. Yum!

Consent to be touched – When does a pat on the back turn into non-consensual and damaging touch?

Obligatory Cloud Reference: CR-48 and Google’s Chrome OS – I managed to get a tester copy of Google’s new Chrome OS netbook

  6. I think I have developed a new addition the past couple of weeks. so here goes
I wrote two pieces for The Zenful Kitchen. The first was on what happened when I released fear in my life and how that truly was the biggest change in my kitchen.

the other is actually a recipe that I made for our holiday sharing gathering. It was my mother’s noodle kugel recipe. What was awesome for me was that I had not make this since my mom passed away in 2001. the whole time I was making this I could hear my mom advising me through the process like she used to when I was SIGNIFICANTLY younger 

I ended the first week and began the second week of Stirring my Spiritual Waters. In doing so, I found myself writing my way through so many feelings and literally stirring stuff up and being able to write through my past and into a different future. It has truly been a blessing in my life and I look forward to the next 7 weeks of this specific journey.
On Week 1, Day 6, I reflected on grace and how it helped shape my relationship of and with others, especially those who challenged my capacity to love
    http://www.inspiritual.biz/stirring-my-spiritual-waters/2010/12/20/week-1-day-6-grace.html
on week 2, day 7 I was supposed to leave the house and sit with a sculpture, but unaware this was going to be the assignment I had not made a liftline reservation and so spent time with my own sculptures and realized I have an affinity for stone and what it has to teach me and has taught me.

week 2, day 1 was one of those days I really did not want to write about the topic – loss – it was one of those days that opened up so much emotion for me as I reflected on all the losses in my life, physical, spiritual, emotional, mental, etc.
    http://www.inspiritual.biz/stirring-my-spiritual-waters/2010/12/22/week-2-day-1-loss.html
on week 2, day 2 I got to write about my 2nd least favorite emotion – anger – and those things that make me angry, what makes me angry and why I have such problems with anger or do I have problems with anger
    http://www.inspiritual.biz/stirring-my-spiritual-waters/2010/12/23/week-2-day-2-anger.html
on week 2, day 3I got to reflect on this word I have a love hate relationship with – acceptance. One of the things I came to realize is that at some point I had made the agreement with myself that acceptance meant I could either agree to accept or not agree to accept and eat other peoples’ stuff and while I had written about this before, it somehow felt different this time.
    http://www.inspiritual.biz/stirring-my-spiritual-waters/2010/12/26/week-2-day-3-ourselves-as-we-are.html
week 2, day 4 was probably one of my favorite writings this week because I got to reflect on my relationship with my BFF who is so different from me it is not even funny. Yet despite all the differences, we have found a way to build one of those relationships that will last a lifetime and still be so different.
    http://www.inspiritual.biz/stirring-my-spiritual-waters/2010/12/26/week-2-day-4-differences-between-us.html
finally, today on week 2, day 5 I looked at the greys in my life – my strengths and my weaknesses and how I could and have used my strengths to help my weaknesses and how I can continue use them

  7. This past week on Man Boobz, my blog about misogyny.

Some dude explains why he thinks it’s unfair that women get to enjoy air conditioning and the polio vaccine.

My take on the highly problematic notion of “involuntary celibacy” and how it can lead to perpetual resentment of women.

Some dude explains why he thinks single mothers are a grave threat to Western civilization.

Another dude gets excited by the prospect of the complete collapse of western civilization because he thinks it will put the wimminz in their place.

  8. This week I posted a couple of responses to posts in last week’s SS-PS:

The first explaining why I hate the “rule” thatgirls should never ask the guy

The second was weighing on on the argument over whether guys should feel more sexual entitlement.

I also posted about political censorship moves in the UK:

The Tories want to ask ISPs to censor all ‘adult material’ on an “opt-in to receive it” basis.

They are also axing a scheme that provided free books to children aged 9 months to 11 years. This one in particular makes me Very Angry.

  9. No.

This week, I wrote a post about sexual assault. With Assange and Michael Moore in the media and the multiple friends I have who have been sexually assaulted, I decided to write my outrage out on my blog.

  10. This week at anthonybsusan, I wrote a follow up post to my Feministing piece that hopefully lends a bit more insight into Christian feminism: http://anthonybsusan.wordpress.com/2010/12/22/follow-up/

I also discussed Sr. Carol Keehan’s stand against Bishop Olmstead’s decision to revoke St. Joseph’s Hospital Catholic status due to the performance of a life saving abortion: http://anthonybsusan.wordpress.com/2010/12/23/sr-carol-keehan-takes-another-stand/

And added some resources for those interested in Christian feminism: http://anthonybsusan.wordpress.com/egalitarian-resources/
