We’ve just passed 250 000 comments. October 25, 2010 Chally Some blew our minds with horrible – see the Next Top Troll contest – some were so amazing they’ve stuck with us for years. It’s a milestone well worth the marking. Thanks for being a part of the community, commenters.
In other milestone news, Jill is just days away from 4000 posts. Not that I’ve been watching the number or anything.

Ditto what abby jean said; I used to be a big critic of over-moderating comments, but after seeing a few comment threads on other blogs whose authors are very easy on moderation, I couldn’t imagine even bothering to have a conversation in a 500-comment thread where 50% of the comments are just a bunch of anonymous haters. I see now that comment moderation isn’t about not letting certain opinions through, but not letting wastes of time through. And congrats, that’s a fricken huge number of comments!
I feel the need to point out that there’s probably something to do with the quality of writing that usually shows up on the blog that leads to the commenting. But no less yay. Just, y’know, shared yay.
