The Real Lesson of Katrina

The essential point is this: If all of our politicians and agencies could not properly prepare to handle a catastrophe like Hurricane Katrina – when we had at least 48 hours prior warning – how can we possibly handle multiple, simultaneous nuclear strikes by Muslim terrorists on our cities?

Riiiight…

  1. Reading conservative “news” and views sites, my friend. It’s addicting. And I’ve even been holding back, having not yet linked to everyone’s favorite Copywriter for Christ, Dawn Eden. (But Pandagon sure has).

  2. Well, thanks to you for doing the dirty work for us. I don’t have the stomach much for it… although I will admit to watching fox5news with rosana scotto’s lip gloss/botox-freed drool more often than is healthy.

  3. Our government was ready. Our citizens were not. Just how fast do you think is fast enough? The government agencies were there as soon as it was safe to be there. I hear your criticism but I dont hear your advise. And I also did not see your name on the ballot for President of the USA. Understand this, it is NOT our governments fault that there was a natural diaster, it is NOT our governments fault that we have global warming, it is NOT our givernments fault that 911 happened, it is NOT our governments fault that a percentage of the people in New orleans are too ignorant to leave. Some of these people claim that they were too poor to leave but when OUR GOVERNMENT when in to help them, they still refused. Whats up with that? And how about the shooting and looting. Why are you not complaining about that and these people. Instead you look to blame THE GOVERNMENT. You need to look around.

  4. NOBODY is calling the hurricane the government’s fault.

Global warming is a lot of peoples’ fault.

9-11 might never have happened had the government been on the ball.

And when you’ve got people being given conflicting orders, driven away from one major escape route by POLICE warning shots, being told that at any moment food and water and assistance is coming but never does, and being herded into miserable hellholes to wait in vain, and the reason for it is unbelievably incompetent government coordination, how is that exactly the fault of the people who did want to get away?

  5. The message about “if we can’t respond when we have 2 days warning how would we respond to an unannounced attack” isn’t so wacko (the simultaneous nukes, though, are “out there”). Security post-disaster (any kind of disaster) involves the same tasks: evacuation, control of unrest, medical care, search and rescue, recovery.

This stuff I definitely should not have scrolled all the way down for: “Since America has forsaken the Christian principles on which our country was founded and on which all our founding documents were based, God’s gracious protection that is so evident in American history is being withdrawn.”

  6. ques : “how can we possibly handle multiple, simultaneous nuclear strikes by Muslim terrorists on our cities?”

quest : By not giving them an ‘excuse’ to do so like the US has been most conscientious in doing the past few decades.

Amongst others, 875,000 child deaths in Iraq (pronounced ‘e-ruck’ btw) due to u.s. sponsored embargoes in the course of the past decade. What would the americans have done if ‘others’ had caused even a 1000 deaths in their beloved ‘land of the brave and home of the free.’ (unless you’re part of the slave class or a non-american)

  7. And, hot on the heels of one crazy repulsive extreme in American society (“We had it coming because of our moral shortcomings from the Christian perspective”) we have another crazy repulsive extreme (“We had it coming because of our moral shortcomings from the crazy left-wing/islamofascist perspective”) coming in and criticizing the other.

Good work, Inquisitor. But when will you resolve the crackling sexual tension between you and Mr. Lindsey? It’s obvious to everyone but you two, and we all want you guys to end up happy. In each other’s arms, making hot, sweaty love (in the R-Rated version anyway: possibly cut for the PG rating). Just do it already.
