The Scourge of the World

It’s a wonderful day when I’m told in at least two places that my little family is ruining “good” society.

If my life is bad, bad is looking pretty good.

UPDATE: Two days in a row! I must be onto something.

  1. Careerism harms marriage, apparently, that’s good to know. I’ve been labouring under this delusion that humans can pursue two goals simultaneously. We are more robotic than I had imagined. Anyway, I’m off to walk OR chew gum.

  2. Dawn Eden is worse than seeing a car wreck. At first I thougth it was a joke, then I hid my eyes in disgust, but then I was drawn into the whole thing. I even had to leave a comment. But I don’t know if I can torture myself as often as you can, Lauren.

  3. I am sorry but I really could not understand the articles….my logical brain could not wrap around their ideals.

    I need a drink

  4. Her views about abortion after rape are silly and thoughtless and based on indoctrination rather than any intelligence and thinking. Even her arguments are like she’s a puppet, repeating what someone else has said. Her debating skills are non-existent.

She’s of the Malkin school of journalism — those who can’t write well enough to make it on their talent alone. So they have to find something controversial to grab on to, and it so happens the religious right is waiting, arms open.

She’s a foolish woman who is afraid of intimacy. That’s not frightening. What is frightening is this growing belief that women are nothing more than breeders — waiting cups to hold the blessed seed. And a growing move to enforce this belief.

If this continues, within ten years there may be more than one of us fleeing to the borders in fear.

  5. Lauren, if you make the fundie wingnuts upset, you’re a heroine in my book! And Ethan is one lucky little boy to have you for a mom!

Besides…what are all these good right-wing Christian women doin’ bloggin’ and runnin’ institutes an’ suchlike? Shouldn’t they be at home tendin’ the kiddies, cleanin’ house an’ cookin’ so’s their hubbies kin ree-lax when they git home from a honest day’s work?
