Christopher Walken To Run For President

Actor Christopher Walken has announced his candidacy for 2008:

Our great country is in a terrible downward spiral. We’re outsourcing jobs, bankrupting social security, and losing lives at war. We need to focus on what’s important– paying attention to our children, our citizens, our future. We need to think about improving our failing educational system, making better use of our resources, and helping to promote a stable, safe, and tolerant global society. It’s time to be smart about our politics. It’s time to get America back on track.

In other news, Walken also dreams of being a zombie. President, zombie — with the five week Presidential vacation this isn’t such a stretch.

I don’t know if this is a hoax or not, but it gave me pause. Ten bucks on hoax.

  1. His skit on Blue Oyster Cult was THE funniest ever to come out of SNL, IMHO. “I could’ve used a little more cowbell.!” “I gotta have more cowbell!” “Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription.. is more cowbell!”

I would vote for him on that alone… well that and if he supports House Bill H. R. 3599, that will amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to clarify the calculation of the reserve allowance for medical benefits of plans sponsored by bona fide associations.

  2. I can get behind the hot dog platform.

When I was pregnant with E, I ate a package of hot dogs a day — after being a vegetarian for three or so years. I can tell you over twenty ways to cook a hot dog. Still can’t pass up one.

If anyone tries to tell me what’s in those things, it’s an immediate ban. Seriously.

  3. An irresistable challenge… hot dogs have the same ingredients as Congress: pork, rats, and assholes.

  4. Christopher Walken played the angel Gabriel in “The Prophecy”. He was supposed to find one soul to end the stalemate war in Heaven. This wasn’t a good thing. Maybe he’ll clean up Congress if he become President.

    Wasn’t he in “Gigli”? Eeeek!!!

  5. And more recently, of course, Mr. Walken played the Secretary of the Treasury in Wedding Crashers. A mock cover of Newsweek displayed his face with the text, “The Next President?”
