Donate to Women in Afghanistan

Posting for Cara:

Amazing Feministe commenter Forrester has decided to match the first $1,000 of Feministe donations made to RAWA in solidarity with the women who took place in this march. If you donate online, forward those receipts to cara.kulwicki at gmail dot com so that I can verify with Forrester that they were made.

Go donate!

UPDATE: As of 8am EST, only about 16 hours after this was originally posted, we’re already past the halfway point — at $535.  I’ll be away from the computer for most of the day, but do keep those donations rolling in!

Also, I’ve emailed back a quick thank you to everyone who has sent me a receipt thus far.  If you didn’t get one of those, it means that I didn’t get yours, so please send it again!  And yes, to those who are wondering — it is okay to delete your address off of the receipt.  Just leave the rest in tact, because I know quite well what they look like at this point.

And once more, a big, huge thanks to Forrester for the outrageously generous offer, and for making this possible at all in the first place!

UPDATE 2: Another quick update, folks.  We’re not quite there yet, but we’re getting close at $805!  Come on, we can do this easily!

  1. Great news folks, this post has been up only 3.5 hours and my inbox tells me that we’ve already raised $250 in funds that will be matched!!!!!

Keep those donations coming! One-quarter of the way there!

  2. Just so it’ll all have an endpoint . . . let’s say, I’ll match up to the first $1000 of donations made by end-of-day Sunday. Sound good? At the time I write this, sounds like we might be there already!

  3. RAWA is really great group of courageous women and they deserve support and solidarity of all women around the world. They are symbols of resistance for change and justice in Afghanistan.

  4. I want to send a check of support for young girls going to school, and who persist
in spite of the Taliban. Where do I mail check? Please e-mail me information.
