Many of the terms in that quiz have valid British slang meanings which are not mentioned. Many of them I’ve never heard of… Culturally biased. 🙂
I tried to take the test and couldn’t pick any of the meanings for a lot of the words. Honestly, I don’t use very much slang: I’m the son of an English professor.
Well, I scored high in Aussie, British, and Canadian … which I guess works as I am a kiwi … of course, I picked the closest definitions as often they didn’t have my specific one …
It’s no secret my mad math skills barely got me out of high school, but doesn’t this mean you’re like 250% slang? How exactly does that work?
wierd quiz… I had only heard of a few of the phrases, but wound up scoring 75% New England… not so close to home. I am compelled to go through all these surveys and quizes, but usually I focus on where they’re wrong, or try to pick out the bias/assumptions.
Amazing. I guessed at at least half the questions, and yet they pegged me at 75%. I’m a New Englander, born and bred. Now how bout we all go out and get some tonic??
The highest score I got was 75% Canadian slang. Not surprising, really, when you consider where I grew up.
Hmm…scored 75% prison slang, but the only ones I’ve ever used are Grinder (for coffee, though I’ve seen numerous people grind on the dance floor), and dope (something I am, though it’s also something a few friends of mine smoke). For the rest…WTF?
