Panty-Sniffing AG Slammed by Kansas Supreme Court

Good news.

For those with short memories, former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline is the rabid anti-choice guy who thought it was a good idea to use his position to go digging through patients’ private medical records in order to suit his political agenda. The court had this to say about him:

Kline exhibits little, if any, respect for the authority of this court or for his responsibility to it and to the rule of law it husbands. His attitude and behavior are inexcusable, particularly for someone who purports to be a professional prosecutor. It is plain that he is interested in the pursuit of justice only as he chooses to define it.

Word to that.

  1. I’ve long thought that elected or appointed officials who knowingly violate their oaths of office ought to be tried for treason and sentenced to the traditional punishment for such an offense.

  2. As if these shenanigans weren’t enough, Klein apparently is Teh Suck as a prosecutor. He hires unqualified boobs whose only qualifications are personal and/or political loyalty to him, regularly blows trials, and otherwise completely fails to enforce the law. When will Johnson County get rid of this guy?

  3. Hey, if his idea of “the law” is rummaging through women’s medical records to try to do an end run around Roe then I’m glad he’s staffed his office with incompetents.

  4. Bitter Scribe,
Kline was pushed into office by Republican Party officials and was never elected by Johnson County voters. Given the chance, they canned him as soon as possible. He lost his reelection bid in the Republican PRIMARY. Not even the JoCo Republicans wanted this guy. He’s out in January.
