Thursday, NYC: Anew School Fundraiser

If you’re in New York this Thursday, March 8th, I hope you’ll join me at a fundraiser for Anew School, which has a mission “to provide unprecedented academic, emotional/mental health, and social training to “at-risk” African-American seventh and eighth grade youth in a school in Ghana.” It’ll be a fun night for a great cause.

So Rush Limbaugh calls a Georgetown law student a slut and a prostitute for having the audacity to talk about birth control, and when pressed to respond Mitt Romney simply says, “It’s not the language I would have used.” Very cool. Very principled!

The Evangelical Christian Movement – Goals and Methods

I touched briefly on the goals of the Evangelical Christian Movement last time, but I wanted to take a couple paragraphs here to address them explicitly. In the broadest sense, the goal of both the modern and historical Evangelical Movement has been to convert as many souls to Christ as possible. For some sects this is the mission given to them by Christ. For other sects, this is how they will build the Army of God to defeat Satan and all his minions. For other sects, this is how they show God’s love.

Apparently New York hospitals are making everyone mad by not having consistent policies for new mothers who want to take their placentas home.

Ross Shimabuku is a word that starts with A, and it’s not “awesome.”

NASCAR driver Danica Patrick is a “pretty girl,” “sexy and she knows it,” and something that starts with B, says Fox5 San Diego sports anchor Ross Shimabuku, who for some reason thought it was perfectly acceptable to more or less call a woman a bitch on the air.
