And the requisite diversionary quiz:

It 's comforting to say that 'practice makes perfect'....
You are ‘Gregg shorthand’. Originally designed to
enable people to write faster, it is also very
useful for writing things which one does not
want other people to read, inasmuch as almost
no one knows shorthand any more.

You know how important it is to do things
efficiently and on time. You also value your
privacy, and (unlike some people) you do not
pretend to be friends with just everyone; that
would be ridiculous. When you do make friends,
you take them seriously, and faithfully keep
what they confide in you to yourself.
Unfortunately, the work which you do (which is
very important, of course) sometimes keeps you
away from social activities, and you are often
lonely. Your problem is that Gregg shorthand
has been obsolete for a long time.

What obsolete skill are you?

My guiltiest pleasure this evening entailed surfing through Livejournal and Photobucket accounts of people I know from around town and don’t particularly like. Despite my veritable attempts at being a nice person, these people inspire all sorts of mean commentary to fly out of my mouth unchecked in their presence.

But after a good hour of indulging myself, I realized I wasn’t following my own internet rules and felt dirty. Bad Lauren.

  1. I’m going to learn Gregg shorthand, so I can take comprehensive notes in my sleep. I need this. 🙂

    Great collection of links! Thanks!

  2. Lauren, I’m just catching up after being out in the desert, and I wanted to thank you for the link to my post.

Especially after having trod on your toes a couple weeks ago, that is.

You’re one of the good ones. I’m honored.
