Help a blogger out

I need business cards. I’m trying to design them to include the Feministe logo and my contact information. Easy, right? Except I don’t have Photoshop, and I’m generally inept at design stuff. So, any design-savy Feministe readers want to help me out? I don’t think it should be too difficult, and I don’t imagine it’ll take more than an hour — I just don’t have the tools to to do it myself. I’m planning on using a printer (probably VistaPrint, but I’m open to suggestions) to make the actual cards, but I just need to upload the full card design. So I need someone to make the design for me.

Drop me an email at jill.filipovic -at- gmail.com and I’ll email you the image and the necessary info.

(Please, please help me!)

  1. You might want to try vistaprint.com they make it really easy. That’s how I do my business cards.

If you’ve got the Feministe logo in a nice, high resolution format, that would make it easier for people to help you, too.

  2. Thanks Elaine! I was actually trying to do VistaPrint, but when you upload the image it doesn’t re-size it or anything for you, and I need it to only go along the top so that my contact info can go on the card, too. So I need the full design made, and then I can upload it onto Vista. But that wasn’t clear from my post, so I’ve edited it.

  3. You simply must hire the irrepressible and gloriously original UnapologeticMexican, also known as Nezua Jonez.
He guest blogs at your site.

  4. What’s the format the Feministe logo is in? How was it originally produced? What’s the set of colors required?

Suggest you find someone with Illustrator if you want tweaking (shrinking/expansion of picture, etc.) as well as full-blown capabilities.

  5. Beware. I used VistaPrint one time and they signed me up for a “free” subscription to something that cost $60/month after for free trial period. I didn’t even know that I had signed up for it. I never sign up for free trials.

The do good work, but I just wanted to let you know in case they are doing the same scam they ran on me.

  6. I printed 5,000 full colour, heavy stock, glossy bookmarks to promote my new site at 4over.com

The service was excellent and the price – awesome. I paid under $200 for it. Once you get your cards designed, I can comfortably recommend you try them out for printing.

    Cheers!
