December Open Thread with Surfing Swans

These black swans surfing the waves at Queensland’s Gold Coast are revisiting a Feministe Open Thread once more (last seen in December 2013). Please natter/chatter/vent/rant on anything* you like over this month. Except what PEOTUS is up to – we can have separate threads for that.

So, what have you been up to? What would you rather be up to? What’s been awesome/awful?
Reading? Watching? Making? Meeting?
What has [insert awesome inspiration/fave fansquee/guilty pleasure/dastardly ne’er-do-well/threat to all civilised life on the planet du jour] been up to?

* Netiquette footnotes:
* There is no off-topic on the general Open Threads, but consider whether your comment would be on-topic on any recent thread and thus better belongs there.
* If your comment touches on topics known to generally result in thread-jacking, you will be expected to take the discussion to #spillover instead of overshadowing the social/circuit-breaking aspects of this thread.

  1. Comments belatedly opened now, my apologies for posting this with comments closed. Our post-duplicator plugin got updated and its new default is to clone the comments-closed status over to the new post because the old post’s commenting period had expired. About to go and poke that until it changes its mind now.

  2. We’re getting slammed with snow and white-outs this week. Yay Canada. An upside to having your kids out-grow you, physically, is that they can no longer claim to be ‘too little’ to shovel.

    I went to see the Good Lovelies Christmas concert with my girls last night. This may become a tradition. They put on a good show.
