Will Work 4 Fud

Lauren here dropping in for a request. Long time no see.

I’m struggling to pay bills at this time and would like to take on a few design projects for WordPress-based blogs. Unfortunately, during a very rare moment this week which was not at all common nor a regular occurrence nor redundant, I accidentally deleted all the mail in my email account including several old requests for design work.

At this point, I am willing to take on the first five redesigns at an agreed upon rate to be discussed privately in an email exchange. Alternatively, if you do not have a WordPress blog, I am willing to discuss smaller projects such as banner and ad design. Another thing to consider if you aren’t willing to spend a lot of money is that I can clean up an existing template in remarkably little time. If you are interested in jazzing up your blog, please write me here. I may be talked into doing more projects at a later date.

Examples of my design work may be found at Pandagon, Bitch Ph.D., Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, Slim Coincidence (professional site), and Punkassblog (banner). And obviously, Feministe.

Thanks to the crew for letting me bleg, and many grand, salutary gestures to anyone who answers this request. We’re in a bit of a bind and any little bit helps. Thanks again and back to your regularly scheduled goodness.

  1. We have missed you.

I dunno if you could, but our site Loaded Mouth just got kicked into WordPress from Drupal (long story, sucky story) and he said he was looking for someone to redesign…

Coincidence? Dunno. Hope you get those extra funds, I will email him about you 😀

  3. That post’s one of those “just got hit by a car, am not quite capable to think about new stuff, so here’s a link-dump” posts. The quoted section of the trackback makes it look like I don’t mention this post at all. I assure you, I do. (Sorry, I hate it when I seem an over-eager and/or gratuitous tracker-backer.)

  4. Jim, I might be able to. I know that some WordPress hosted blogs are limited inthe changes that can be made to the templates. I’d have to refresh my memory.

Scott, you’re paranoid and we love you.

  5. I agree with Roni RE: Blogger redesign. I’ve seen your work, and would be very interested in inquiring about your rates.

  6. Looks like this has worked well, my email bounced with a quota exceeded message! Hopefully that is because you’re flooded with work offers! I’ll try again in a day or two.

  7. Just tried again, same result:

  8. I’ve got a major mess of a site and I’d love it if you could help me. I got some money for mother’s day but it’s not much. Perhaps you could email me and we could work out something or I could pay you for advising me if you are out of my price range.

    Thanks!

  9. Hi:
I’d be interested in talking to you about designing a professional website — I’m an English professor who could use a decent-looking site, easy to upload to my university’s server and easy for me to maintain. Don’t know if you do that sort of thing regularly (I like Krista Kennedy’s!) and I don’t know if I can afford you, but please email me if you’re interested and you get this. (I tried emailing to the email given, but it was returned — so sorry if this is not the place to post this.)
    Thanks, Janine

  10. Hey Lauren. For some reason this email bounce back to me.

    Hey Lauren,

I saw the post on Shaula Evan’s blog and wanted to drop you a line. I’ve been working on ironing out some issues with my blog and hosting (long, hellish story). I’ve finally gotten it ironed out. (I moved all of my old content to archives.republicoft.com and started with a fresh install and only about 20 or so posts carried over.)

I’ve been thinking for a while about getting a custom design for my blog, and I’ve always had it in the back of my mind to approach you about doing one because I’ve loved your work on other sites. If you’re looking for design work, I think it’d be a win-win.

So, wanna do a design for my blog? Let’s talk.

    T.

  11. Lauren: My Dad and I are getting out business (in whatever form it takes) up and running right now. I don’t know when we’ll have get a website together, or when we do, what kind of budget we’ll have for it. But I’ll put your name up for consideration when we know what’s what.
