I’m really mesmerised and intrigued by Albania’s Eurovision entry. I keep coming back to this video because I think there are layers of interesting visual things going on here.
The artist is Juliana Pasha, and the song is ‘All About You.’

Video description: The video opens with a woman in a white dress and dark jacket, lying on a stone bench. She gets up, shedding the jacket, and draws a balloon on the bench with chalk. It animates and floats away. The video cuts to her lying on the forest floor, holding shells. She is surrounded with images and mementos, suggestive of a lost relationship, and rises to touch a tree, which turns white as she runs away and lies down again next to a set of man’s clothes laid out on the forest floor. Two women in long robes printed with tree patterns embrace each other in the distance.
Cut to the woman running in the woods, where she encounters another woman in white. Another cut and she is decorated with body paint designs of birds and branches, moving her hands sinuously. Cut again to her facing a man, and then embracing him. We see her next on a couch suspended between two trees and covered in a white throw. The video cuts back and forth between her on the couch and her embracing the man.
Then we see her balancing on a fallen tree, walking barefoot. She runs through the woods, and we cut to a scene of her dropping out of the man’s arms. The video cuts between various scenes of her lying on the forest floor, and standing with long white ribbons trailing from her hands, before showing her floating on a bed in the middle of a lake. As the video closes, we see her in the same pose she was in at the start of the video, with the drawn-in balloon in chalk positioned as though she is holding it.
